Jordan fall again at the quarterfinal hurdle as Uzbekistan beat them 2-1 to move into the semifinals of the Asian Cup. Both Uzbekistan goals came from Ulugbek Bakayev.

Uzbekistan picked up their second win in as many games in Group A as they beat Kuwait 2-1. The goals for the Uzbeks came on either side of a Bader Al Mutawa spot kick goal for Kuwait.
