Never have Barcelona scored six in the league away from home against Madrid. Great performance from the Catalans, but there were defensive errors that Chelsea will hope to exploit at the Bridge this Wednesday.

Real Madrid 1-0 Barcelona ( Gonzalo Higuain 14′ goal)

A dream start for Real Madrid. Arjen Robben finds Sergio Ramos with some space down the right, and the defender crosses it into the area for an unmarked Higuain to head home. 1-0 to Real Madrid.

Real Madrid 1-1 Barcelona ( Thierry Henry 18′ goal)

Stung by Higuain’s opener, Barcelona respond in the best possible way. Thierry Henry scores his 18th league goal of the season in the 18th minute of the game. 1-1. Assisted by Lionel Messi.

Real Madrid 1-2 Barcelona ( Carles Puyol 20′ goal)

Anything Barcelona can do, Real Madrid can do better. Like Gonzalo Higuain, Carles Puyol is given all the space in the box, and the defender is not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. Xavi flights the ball in, and Puyol heads home to give Barcelona the lead.

Real Madrid 1-3 Barcelona ( Lionel Messi 35′ goal)

Horrible defending from Lassana Diarra. The former Portsmouth man gives away possession in his own half to Xavi, who finds an unmarked Messi, who in turn pokes past Casillas. 3-1 to Barcelona.
