Here is a list of current (17-18 season) manager salaries in Italy’s Serie A, courtesy Italian newspaper Gazetta. All figures are in million euros per season, after tax. 11 of the 20 managers earn more than a million euros.

Who is the highest paid manager in Italian football?

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri earns the highest wage, with the Bianconeri paying him 7 million euros a year as salary. Allegri earns three million euros more than the next best paid manager (Inter’s Luciano Spaletti at 4 million euros a year). Allegri’s wage is also just 500,000 euros lesser than Gonzalo Higuain, who at 7.5m euros, is Serie A’s best paid player.

Here is a graphic that details the earnings of players from Italian giants Napoli. The figures reported are after tax, in million euros per year, courtesy Italian newspaper Gazetta. Napoli’s overall wage bill (81 million euros) is lower than the likes of Juve, Milan, Roma and Inter.

It’s also interesting to see the figures- Napoli have a fairly competitive wage structure. Ghoulam and Hysaj earn 0.8 and 0.7m euros respectively, but Mario Rui, signed on loan from Roma with an option to buy, gets paid 1.8m euros a year.

Lorenzo Insigne has the highest salary at Napoli, with 3.6 million euros per year. Dries Mertens and Marek Hamsik are not too far behind- they are paid 3.5 million euros yearly.

What is the salary of manager Maurizio Sarri at Napoli?

However Insigne’s wages are less than half of what the highest paid players in Italy are- Gonzalo Higuain at Juventus and Leonardo Bonucci at AC Milan both earn 7.5m euros per year.

Sarri earns 1.4 million euros per year- the sixth highest managerial wage in Serie A after Allegri, Spaletti, Montella, Di Francesco and Mihajlovic.
