Man City get permission to talk to Bellamy

Manchester City have been given permission by West Ham to talk to their Welsh forward Craig Bellamy. City and West Ham have agreed on a £14m fee, with £12m being payable upfront and the remaining £2m to be paid in installments.

Bellamy had made his desire to move away from Upton Park clear, and the former Liverpool and Newcastle forward was not included in the starting lineup on Sunday when the Hammers played Fulham. West Ham won that game 3-1.

Tottenham Hotspur were also interested in signing Bellamy, but it seems that City have stolen a march over their north London Premiership rivals.

Man City agree fee for Bridge

Manchester City and Chelsea have come to an agreement for left back Wayne Bridge, who has now been given permission by the Blues to speak to Mark Hughes’ side.

City have reportedly offered Chelsea £12m for Bridge, who is currently the second choice left back at Stamford Bridge after Ashley Cole. Bridge joined Chelsea from Southampton for £7m in 2003.

According to this report in the Mirror, Mark Hughes and Man City will have to cough up a minimum of 18 million pounds if they are to bring Paraguyuan international Roque Santa Cruz to Eastlands in January.

Santa Cruz, who excelled at Rovers under Hughes last season, has not quite had the same impact at Ewood Park this season, but is still high up on Hughes’ winter shopping list. He scored his first home goal of the season recently against Liverpool, and that was a bit delayed given the quality we’ve come to expect out of him.
