Here is a look at the newspaper player ratings for Bayern vs Man City from the big German and European sports newspapers (Bild, Kicker Magazin, L’Equipe and Marca) following the second leg of their UCL tie. City drew 1-1 in Munich to advance to the semifinals (see xG stats for Bayern 1-1 Man City)

French newspaper L’Equipe gave compatriot Clement Turpin a referee rating of just 3/10. They gave Bayern a team rating of 5/10, with City marginally ahead at 5.3/10.

Ake, Upamecano and Choupo Moting all given a 3/10 player rating. Ederson, Coman and Kimmich with a 7/10.

A bit like the Napoli Milan second leg– City had fewer shots (only 7 to Bayern’s 19), but came pretty close to matching FC Bayern here on xG courtesy these three shots from Erling Haaland (missed penalty, missed chance and goal)

Bayern had some chances- Sane in the 17th minute being the biggest, Choupo-Moting with an attempted back heel from close range on 45+1′ (blocked by City defender) and Mane on 90+2′, but none were really as clear cut opportunities as City’s goal.
