Here is how the big French and Italian newspapers rated Lyon and Juventus’ players after the latter’s shock 1-0 win in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie in front of a 57,335 strong crowd.
L’Equipe player ratings OL Juve 2020
L’Equipe gave Olympique Lyonnais a team rating of 6.3/10 while rating Juve a 4.2/10. Many disappointing 3’s and 4’s for Juve players- Pjanic, Rabiot, Bentancur and Cuadrado all below par according them. De Ligt got a 5/10 while the pair of Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala both received a 6/10.
For Lyon, Guimaraes and goal scorer Tousart were both given a 8/10 player rating, as was manager Rudi Garcia. L’Equipe though were not happy with the performance of Spanish referee Manzano, giving him a 4/10 for his performance here.
Gazzetta dello Sport player ratings Lyon vs Juve
Gazzetta thought Cristiano Ronaldo was the pick of the Juve player, as has oft been the case, and had Houssem Aouar as OL’s best player on the evening. Like L’Equipe, GdS also thought Bentancur, Pjanic and Rabiot were poor.
