Here is how France and Germany’s biggest sports newspapers gave their player ratings following the two teams’ friendly clash. The Germans won 2-0 with Wirtz and Havertz scoring.

Under the German system, 1 is a very good rating (the best) and it was reserved for Wirtz and Kroos from Bild. They gave Kimmich a 2 (L’Equipe only thought him to be a 5/10) The worst French players according to Bild.were Thuram and Mbappe (both 5)

With the news coming in that German legend Andreas Brehme has passed away, here is his most famous goal- the 1990 World Cup winning penalty for West Germany against Argentina. Interestingly, Brehme took this 1990 WC penalty with his right foot. In the 1986 quarterfinal against Mexico, he had scored a penalty with his left foot
