Tottenham Hotspur survive a nervy night against Italian league leaders AC Milan to book their spot in the last eight of the Champions League. Milan dominated the fixture, but Spurs did just enough to keep a clean sheet and win 1-0 on aggregate. Harry Redknapp becomes the first English manager to reach the quarterfinals of the Champions League ( the Champions League era, not the European Cup era)

Blackpool vs Chelsea was the only Premier League fixture for Monday night. The Blues took advantage of United’s 3-1 loss at Liverpool by beating Blackpool 3-1 at Bloomfield Road. Frank Lampard scored a brace for Chelsea. With the 3-1 win, Chelsea now have 51 points from 28 games, two less than third placed Man City, but Carlo Ancelotti’s men do have a game in hand.
