MLS outfit Chicago Fire are said to be interested in securing the services of veteran Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand. Ferdinand, soon to turn 33, will be out of contract at the end of next season and Fire are said to be more than willing to match the £120,000 a week he earns at Manchester United.

Nicklas Bendtner- Stoke City plan record £9m bid for Arsenal forward
Stoke City are planning to make a club record £9m bid for Nicklas Bendtner that will eclipse the fee paid to Sunderland for Kenywne Jones in 2010 and make the Danish international the Potters’ record club signing. Bendtner is all but certain to leave the Emirates this summer as he seeks regular first team football and was left out of Arsenal’s recent Far East tour.
