Arsenal will be the MLS All-Stars’ opponents in this year’s annual fixture, the club have announced. The game between the All-Stars and the Gunners will take place on July 28, 2016 at the Avaya Stadium in San Jose (home of MLS outfit San Jose earthquakes). Arsenal will also play Chivas in California three days later (July 31)
London rivals Spurs competed in the 2015 All-Star game in Colorado, with Harry Kane scoring a peach of a goal but lost it 2-1 as Kaka and David Villa scored for the hosts.
Great playoff game this one between Portland Timbers and Sporting KC in the MLS. Sporting scored a late goal to take the game to extra time, and Portland then needed Maximiliano Urruti’s last gasp extra time goal to take it to penalties. In the shootout, check out Saad Abdul Salaam’s penalty- it hit BOTH posts before going out, and had it been converted, Sporting would have gone through. This cracking Juan Agudelo goal vs DC United (VIDEO BELOW) was a stunning goal from the Colombian born forward and gave his side New England revolution a win over DC United in their MLS playoff tie. Great bicycle kick from Agudelo, also the only goal of the game.
