We’ve had some fantastic weird goals scored this season ( remember Jone Samuelsen and co?), but this Festus Baise own goal ( see video below) is easily a winner in its own category. Nigerian defender Festus Baise, who plays for Citizen in Hong Kong, scored this own goal in their 3-2 win over Sun Hei FC on 16 December, 2011 at the Mong Kok Stadium in HK.
As Sun Hei’s Jack Sealy crosses into the box, Baise produces a scorpion kick that even the best strikers of today will struggle to replicate and diverts the cross into his own goal. Citizen keeper Tae Tse Him is powerless to stop this venomous reverse scorpion kick.
