Javier Balboa was the hero for hosts Equatorial Guinea in a controversial game as they moved into the semifinals of the 2015 African Cup of Nations after a 2-1 win over Tunisia. Akaichi’s goal seemed to have done enough for Tunisia to win, but Balboa scored from the penalty spot deep into second half injury time- a very dubious looking decision from the referee in the first place, and then scored a free kick in the 115th minute to send Eq.Guinea through
Congo and Democratic Republic of Congo contested the first quarterfinal of AFCON 2015 in Bata on 31st January, 2015. The game that was tied 0-0 at half time, went to produce six goals in the second half, with DR Congo booking their spot in the semifinals after trailing 2-0, with less than half an hour to go.
Dieumerci Mbokani scored twice for DR Congo, with Jeremy Bokila and Joel Kimwaki also netting for Ikwanga-Ibenge’s side. Fode Dore and Thievy Bafouma netted for Congo
