Less than three months after joining Ghanian side Asante Kotoko, Belgian coach Maurice Cooreman has parted company with the club. Cooreman, 65, took over from Bashiru Hayford as Kotoko coach in November 2008 on a two year contract, but was asked to go after Sunday’s loss to rivals Hearts of Oak, which left the Porcupine Warriors seven points behind their bitter rivals in the Ghana Premier League.
Isaac Opeele Boateng, Cooreman’s assistant, will temporarily take charge of affairs at Kotoko.
Cooreman’s first game in charge of Kotoko ended in a goalless draw ( against King Faisal). In nine Premier League games, Kotoko won four, drew three and lost two.
