The most heavy defeat in the history of the A-League was inflicted upon North Queensland Fury by Adelaide United as the Reds thrashed Fury 8-1 at the Hindmarsh Stadium on January 21, 2011 ( Friday). The result surpassed the previous 6-0 records held by Melbourne Victory and Wellington Phoenix.

New Adelaide United 2009-10 Kits- Home and Away

Australian A-League side Adelaide United have officially released their new kits for the 2009-10 season. The launch took place on top of the Montefiore Hill in the northern part of the city.

The home shirt ( modeled by Travis Dodd in the photo below), is red in colour and will be worn for the first time in a pre season friendly against Perth Glory at the Hindmarsh stadium in August.

The away strip ( modeled by Daniel Mullen in the pic below) is predominantly black in colour, and will be worn by the club if the red jersey clashes with the opponent team’s home shirt.

The shirts are manufactured by Reebok. Exact Mining Services are the shorts sponsors, while electrical equipment testing company Testel are the sleeve sponsors.

Gold Coast United 2009-10 shirts- home and away

A-League side Gold Coast United have revealed their shirts that will be worn for their 2009-10 league campaign.

The Queensland based side are making their debut in the 2009-10 A-League season.

The home shirt is yellow in colour, with blue shorts and royal blue socks completing the outfit.

Gold Coast United have gone for an all white away strip. Sponsors Mineralogy are represented by the big M in the middle of both the shirts. The company is owned by Gold Coast United chairman Clive Palmer.

The home shirt seems to be inspired by the Brazilian team’s colours, while the away shirt seems to have drawn inspiration from Real Madrid.
