Leg 1- Bochum 0-3 Dusseldorf; Leg 2 Dusseldorf 0-3 Bochum (Bochum win 6-5 on penalties)
Dusseldorf therefore didn’t get promotion to the Bundesliga for 24/25 despite winning the first leg of their playoff tie 3-0.
Interestingly, the two teams who had been relegated to 2.Bundesliga at the end of 2022/23 (Schalke, Hertha) did not bounce back immediately.
