Italy’s Serie A kicked off over the weekend, and here’s a look at the team of the week after Round 1. Seven games were played, with three (Benevento-Inter, Lazio-Atalanta and Udinese-Spezia) postponed because Inter, Atalanta and Spezia all finished their 2019/20 campaigns late.
All seven games produced goals, with the highest scoring game being Genoa’s 4-1 win over Crotone. Napoli were the only away team to register a win (2-0 away at Parma), and have two representatives in this TOTW (Koulibaly and Lozano). The other teams were two representatives are Juve (Ronaldo, Bonucci) and Fiorentina (Biraghi, Castrovilli). The only player in the Team of the Week from a losing side is Torino goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu.
Serie A Team of the Week GW 1 2020/21: Sirigu, Biraghi, Koulibaly, Bonucci, Faraoni, Locatelli, Badelj, Nandez, Cristiano Ronaldo, Castrovilli, Lozano
