Here are the player ratings from the big European newspapers after Bayern Munich beat Frank Lampard’s Chelsea 3-0 in the first leg of their Round of 16 Champions League tie in front of a 36,761 crowd at Stamford Bridge. All three goals came in the second half- two from Serge Gnabry and one from Robert Lewandowski.

L’Equipe player ratings Chelsea-Bayern 0-3
French newspaper L’Equipe gave Kovacic a 6/10, the highest of any Chelsea player, but the rest were dire. 3/10 ratings were given to the troika of Jorginho, Reece James and Ross Barkley, with several of their defenders and Willy Caballero in goal getting a 4.
Frank Lampard was given a manager rating of 3/10 while his opposite number Hansi Flick was given a 8/10.

The lower the number in the German player rating system, the better he actually played, so 1 here is very good, and 5 is bad. In Bild’s eyes, this was a shocker for most of the CFC players- a number of 4’s and 5’s.
Like L’Equipe, Bild also thought French right back Benjamin Pavard had a bad day at the office for Bayern.

A 4.5/10 team rating for CFC from Italian newspaper Gazzetta, while Bayern got a 7.5/10. Serge Gnabry, who netted a brace for the Bavarians, the pick of the visiting players according to GdS.
