Last season’s semi-finalists Eintracht Frankfurt booked their spot in the group stages of the Europa League with a 3-0 win over RCSA in the second leg of their playoff round tie. Strasbourg came into this tie holding a narrow 1-0 advantage from the first leg, but this tie was an ill tempered one, with Ante Rebic and Dmitri Lienard both red carded. Numerous other players were yellow carded, and French newspaper L’Equipe weren’t too pleased with the performance of referee Orel Grinfeld, giving him just a 3/10
Daichi Kamada and Filipe Kostic, who scored a wonderful second half free kick, were the stars of the show, both earning 8/10 for their performance.
Frankfurt did deserve their win though- rating 6.4 from 10 as a team compared to RCSA’s 3.8/10
