According to German media reports, Werder Bremen have agreed a deal to sell naming rights for their stadium beginning the 19/20 season, with the Weserstadion to be henceforth called the “Wohninvest Weserstadion”.
Somewhat surprisingly, Bremen will get only €3m/year, with the deal set to be worth €30m over ten years. It’s half the amount Schalke and Bayern get for their naming rights- Veltins and Allianz respectively. Bremen finished 8th in the Bundesliga in 2018/19, while Schalke ended up fourteenth.
Even local rivals Hamburg, against whom Bremen contest the Nordderby, get 4 million euros a year for the Volksparkstadion.
It effectively means that in the 19/20 season, only three German top flight clubs will not have stadiums named after a corporate sponsor- Monchengladbach, Hertha and Union Berlin.
This is not the first time Bremen have sold their naming rights to a corporate- EWE had the rights previously, but chose not to rename the stadium.
For comparison, here are the rates for some other German top flight clubs (data from 16/17)
