This Paco Alcacer goal vs Bayern was the strike that sealed Der Klassiker in Borussia Dortmund’s favour in their clash on 10 November, 2018 at Signal Iduna Park. Alcacer’s goal against Bayern came in the 73rd minute for BVB and was the winner for them. Great play from the back for Dortmund and a superb pass assist from Axel Witsel
BVB 3-2 Bayern (Alcacer goal Bayern 73′)

The first Klassiker of the season didn’t disappoint, and this goal was a fitting end to a thrilling game of footy. Dortmund now go seven points clear of Bayern, a fantastic achievement given they had been hammered 6-0 the last time these two sides met.
Robert Lewandowski had scored a hat trick in that 6-0 win, and he came mighty close to replicating that feat today. The Polish international put Bayern ahead twice in the game, both with trademark headers and even appeared to have snatched a point for his team in the 95th minute with a cheeky backheel, only for the linesman to raise his flag.
Alcacer has been an absolute revelation for Dortmund this season- he had scored seven goals from the bench in his last five league games for BVB coming into this fixture. It was the reason we got a Paddy Power promo code and took a punt on him scoring in this game. The last few weeks have been nothing short of spectacular for the Spaniard- he had netted once against Frankfurt, twice against Leverkusen, thrice against Augsburg (what a game that was!) and once against Stuttgart. Not to forget his goal in BVB’s Champions League clash against Monaco!
Alcacer however had a golden opportunity to score 10 minutes before he actually did, having just taken the pitch as a substitute for Mario Gotze. Jadon Sancho, who was tremendous for BVB in this clash, beat Hummels comfortably for pace. The young star however delayed his release to Alcacer, but did eventually manage to find him. The Spaniard should’ve found the back of the net, but a last ditch scramble from Jerome Boateng allowed Bayern to escape.
The Bavarians actually lead this clash only 1-0 at the break, but the goals arrived in a flurry in the second half. First it was a penalty conceded by Manuel Neuer on Reus, who then stepped up to send his international teammate the wrong away. Then came Lewandowski’s second goal, followed by Reus bagging a brace himself with a superb, instinctive finish. Alcacer’s goal was the final twist in the tale, and BVB will very much believe this is their year in the league.
