The draw for the 2018/19 Champions League group stages was conducted today (August 30, 2018). The 32 teams were divided into four pots of eight each, and teams from the same nation couldn’t be drawn together.
At first glance both Manchester United and Liverpool seem to have got the toughest draws- United are with Cristiano Ronaldo’s new club Juventus, Valencia and Young Boys in Group H, while Liverpool have drawn PSG, Napoli and Red Star Belgrade in Group C. The Reds were pushed into Pot 3 following Benfica’s win over PAOK in Greece last night. Spurs also have a tricky path to negotiate, with Barcelona, PSV and Inter Milan in their group.
Man City have a seemingly straightforward group, with Shakhtar, Lyon and Hoffenheim present in theirs.
