It is the 85,896 that saw Chelsea beat Manchester United on penalties in the 2009 edition.
What is the lowest crowd for a Community Shield game at the New Wembley Stadium?
It is the 45,602 in attendance for the 2021 edition between Leicester and City (it had Covid protocols in place too). There was 0 attendance in the 2020 edition, but that was because of Covid again. Apart from these, it was the 71,523 who watched Arsenal beat Man City 3-0 in 2014, followed by 2018, when Man City beat Chelsea 2-0 in front of 72,724 fans.

Bit telling that both lowest attendance games have involved City. Decent fan base, but not on the level on the big four despite their (City’s) success in the last few years.
