The five man shortlist for the African Footballer of the Year has been released. Liverpool feature prominently in it, with two current LFC players (Mo Salah and Sadio Mane) and one future Reds player (Naby Keita, currently with TSG Hoffenheim) nominated for the award.
Salah has had a fantastic season with both club and country and played a pivotal role in getting Egypt to their first World Cup since 1990.
The other two members on the shortlist are Dortmund’s Pierre Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon) and Chelsea’s Victor Moses (Nigeria). Three of the five currently ply their trade in England, with the other two in Germany.
