Asian Cup 2015 Attendances- Crowds at 2015 AFC Asian Cup in Australia

Australia is hosting the Asian Cup for the first time ever, and we at Soccer Blogger thought it would be a good idea to check out and compile a list of attendances/crowds at the games. The profile of soccer is rising in Australia despite the presence of rival football codes (AFL, Rugby League and Rugby Union), and this has been reflected in the growing attendances for the domestic A-League, club friendlies and other international fixtures.

  1. It would seem that Australia, Japan and Iran are the most popular teams.

A tad surprised at Iran’s attendances. They’re very, very good. 18K in Melbourne and 23K at Sydney while not playing Japan, Korea or Australia. Impressive.

  2. Wondering if anyoneknew where I could get the official counts on how many players, techinical, administrative and medical staff, including VIP that fly-in specifically with each team.

    thanks in advance
