This Besart Berisha red card vs Sydney FC (VIDEO BELOW) took place in the Brisbane Roar vs Sydney FC game on March 14, 2014. Berisha was sent off in the 39th minute of the game for his challenge on Sydney FC’s Sebastian Ryall. Ryall himself got a yellow card, but the part to watch in the video is Berisha’s reaction, which, as some folks on social media commented, looked like that of a “fish out of water“
The game between Brisbane and Sydney ended in a 1-1 draw, with Berisha’s 23rd minute opener cancelled by Ryall’s 35th minute goal.

Crazy how the game gets played sometimes!
Real comic stuff!
Fish having a sp*z
Definate red card to Berisha, and yes it was a fairly crazy reaction.
In fairness to some degree, ryall did push him as a response and unfortunately broich collected berisha’s head with his knees. I am fairly sure that would have hurt and I do believe that Berisha thought he had been attacked in some way. I think he did try to milk it a bit but when you see the blood on his forehead and bridge of his nose, he did take a fair knock.
I am sure he is very embarrassed after watching the replay.
This is true to form though for Berisha, not his first brain snap.
Oh well, he is off to the Victory next year and I am betting he scores very few goals. Without quality support from Broich I think he will look like a different player.
He is a bruiser in the box, definately a quality finisher but way too unpredictable in temperament.
Brisbane will be fine without him.
Yeah this was a really awkward.
It is a real shame because Berisha is such a talented player – I am surprised he has not been snapped up by a richer league. He has been the top of the A-League for 3 years. Scored against Man U in a friendly.
I am not too sure how his team is going to score against Melbourne Victory in the next match.
