  1. Great game of football, probably the best of the Confederations so far.

Massive credit to Japan, would have shocked Italy if they could defend better. And Keisuke Honda was excellent, some club will be sure to snap up him this summer as he is available on a free transfer.

  2. love the japanese commentary and you can see that even the English comm folks were rooting for japan.

  3. I missed watching this one but judging from the highlights only I can see that it was the most thrilling to date in this competition .. that’s the real performance by Japan if they play to their potential and I also congratulate Italy for their great spirit holding on till the end thats the attitude of winners always fight till the end !

  4. Screw these refs, this is the most unfair coverage of games, get some new commentators who don’t root for one side the entire match while bashing the other for the entire game.
Italy played like shit, Japan probably exceeded expectations.
Italy scored some lucky goals, as did Japan.
The more deserving team won IMO.
That yellow to Buffon and the penalty with it was some bs, too bad the ref repaid the favor with a penalty for Italy for the handball. Italy should have won 4 -2 as Buffon played the ball like everybody saw, people take spills over goalies looking for penalties all the time, I don’t see how this was a legitimate penalty. Hopefully that official never refs another game in his life.

  5. Italy was totally flat. Japan had the speed, the energy & the drive & it showed with a 2-0 lead. Its too bad their defence didn’t hold up.

The Italians always play too loose against teams like this(low ranking) & then they turn it up when need be but one day they will be got with a massive upset.

Japan will be a team to watch out for next year in 2014.
