1. Wow, I didn’t see that coming.

   Good as Bayern have been in recent times, didn’t expect a 4-0 spanking.

4. Clearly Bayern deserved the win, they were definitely better. But that officiating! I’ll give them a pass for the offisides, though it was pretty clear and he must have had a perfect view, but the third goal never should have happened. I just don’t get why the referee doesn’t call that, he’s in perfect position to see the foul, and it’s not a 50-50 call, its a simple foul that everyone except him saw. The officiating is worrying because of how obvious these calls are that they are missing, just like in the Malaga vs Dortmund game!

7. To above previous post, Barca’s defence was weak in the box and Bayern managed to capitalise on that, second goal was pretty much perspective and the linesman could not catch it.

   Third goal however, lol, was pretty funny imo. He shouldnt have blocked the defender though. I dont think the results would have changed anyway. Bayern got their just desserts on the 4th goal, when one of them was knocked down by Barca, also unseen by ref. So they’re even, its just Barca displaying a weaker performance in defence, while not able to convert shots too.

    Every team has its weaknesses. Barca’s weaknesses are bigger and increasingly obvious in recent years. Puyol is old and slow. Xavi can’t play well anymore. Pique is distracted by Shakira. Valdes is just a crappy goalkeeper.

    Fancy dribbling and possession without scoring goals is like foreplay without penetration.

12. Absolute brilliant display by Bayern, but they always had the potential to do this. All the goals were deserved. They broke up all the Barca play, were first to all the second balls and made Barca’s front three unnoticable. I don’t see why they can’t replicate this at the Nou Camp.

28. 1st goal and 4th goal was fair. 2nd and 3rd goal wasn’t.
    That’s not the problem though, Barca was just completely outplayed by Bayern.
    There are tons of stuff Barca needs to fix, starting with a better central defender. Pique is not doing his job well, and Barta was absolutely terrible. Alves sucks at defending in the first place, and Alba is just a stupid, i don’t even like him.
    Midfield is ok, but Xavi’s getting old and playing worse these days.
    Now Messi, he’s not the problem. It’s Tito’s overuse of Messi. Barca is not a team right now, it’s like Messi and his supporters. If Messi’s trapped, Barca just plays terrible. Same thing showing on and on, starting from the Milan game….
    So Barca, please get some new defenders, a replacement for Xavi(probably Cesc or Alcantra) and a different strategy. Or else the Barca kingdom will completely fall.

29. Only the last goal was actually valid. The first goal the first header literally puts his two hands on the shoulders of the defender and doesn’t let him contest the ball. Second goal was a clear offside. The third goal Muller blocks the defender like a bloody truck. The last goal was actually valid.
    Also for those who haven’t seen the entire game, there were at least 2 clear hands on the ball by Bayern Munich.

Read the rules 3rd goal with the ‘block’ player is allowed to stand anywhere on the pitch he wants, shouldnt move out of the way for him, barca player ran into him & lets be honest he could of stayed on his feet if he wanted to, bayern player didnt lean into him, push him, or throw his body in to him. simply occupying a space on the pitch which is totally legal that is why official stranding less than 10 yards with a clear view didnt call foul, good call!!!

32. @ Hugo: Actually, there were 3 clear handballs in the penalty area by Barca not Bayern. Seems like you haven’t watched the game at all.

    @ me: Müller doesn’t just “stand on the pitch”, he runs into Alba and blocks him with his shoulder. Müller even admit it and joked with Robben about it after the game.

    To sum up, the referees had a really bad day, but neither side was disadvantaged. Bayern played an outstanding match and deserved to win that clearly.

35. Bayern Munich’s win is not what I’m doubting. They played good football and deserved 2 win. For the hand balls against Barcelona, such fouls are not always blown because they are committed mistakenly. The 3rd goal against Barcelona was actually a foul against Bayern. The other goals against Barcelona were valid. But actually, I think there was a misunderstanding between the referees. The Bayern defenders were very rough. Messi was always roughly tackled but most time the referee will say ‘play on’. There should have been a red card in the game against the Bayern defenders because their tackle on Messi was too rough.
