  1. Not to sound offensive, but are these the players to be featuring for Nigeria at AFCON?

Don’t recognise even one of them

  2. 4 D super eagles 2 av com wit almost unknown players n got a draw wit this team shows theres hope 4 us. thanks 2 keshi

  3. Nigerian players tried but they need to study the game, workharder, anndimprove on scoring ability

  4. With all the respect i really thing that if this is the squad for the Nation cup then Nigeria has no chance to go far, sorry but FACT.

  5. It is a good start but Nigeria’s goalkeeper runs out unnecessarily several times. The players should take time while jibulating to avoid injury, at least this is a friendly match. More grease to your elbows and good luck Mr Coach!

  7. Two things that Keshi must fix. These set of defenders, amazingly, were doing some comical ball watching. At one point, during a cross int Nigeria’s box, there were five Nigerian defenders and five or four Catalunya attackers and they were all wide open. Not counting the countless times these defenders didn’t have a clue who was behind them or where. World class strikers like Eto, Drogba or Messi will have a field day with their lack of exposure. Oh, they also switch off during free kicks and restarts and are prone to quick restarts. Eagles players fail to show up within gaps of space, to make it easier for a teammate to find them and make a simple pass, without risking trying to dribble out of trouble or pressure. The same way defenders run into spaces to relieve a pressured keeper and give him/her a passing lane, applies within the field too, with the same good result of ball retension. It’s exactly the same concept. Spain, Barca and Catalunya uses it.

  8. I thnk the super eagles did well 2 stand d presure of d tikitaka catalunya style of play is nt dat easy 2 play a team wth d presence of baca big star’s and stl get a draw i blve they are going 2 do wel in d afcn.

  9. Yes, Nigeria did a decent job by finally getting into the game. But, that doesn’t mean that there is no room for improvement. The points outlined above are very legitimate and done with the interest of Nigeria at heart. It’s typical of Nigerians to always sweep glaring problems under the mat and act like they don’t exist, just like Law’s comments avoided them, only to pay for it later. Every single point raised did happen in that game and to be honest, if it was really Spain, Argentina or any top European team, those fundamental inadequacies will have been severely exploited. If this is what they will do at the nations cup, just forget the trophy. Honestly, how can players who are wearing a major country’s national team jersey still be “ball watching” and not getting within a foot of each striker in their box, even when they have enough defenders back? Regardless of whether they are locally based or not, that’s below standards and unacceptable. Catalunya could have easily scored three “thank you” goals. Someone should pass on the message to Keshi, if they want Nigeria to do well.
