Nike have inked a deal with the Football Association that will see them take over as manufacturers of both the men’s and women’s England national football team’s kits next year. England are currently outfitted by domestic brand Umbro ( an erstwhile Nike subsidiary), but the Three Lions, like Manchester City, have opted to switch to Nike from 2013. The first new England Nike footy kits will be released in spring 2013 and the deal is roughly reported to be of the same value as England’s previous deal with Umbro.
Here is a look at Umbro’s last two creations for England, the uniforms they wore during the 2012 European Championships and will wear this season before Nike’s new kits are revealed.
Nike already outfit plenty of major global soccer nations, with the likes of Holland, Portugal, Brazil, France and the United States already with them. In England, Nike are kit partners for both Arsenal and Manchester United and will add Man City to their list of high profile clients from the 2013-2014 season.
The duration of the deal is for five years ( till 31, July 2018)
England Euro 2012 shirts ( home and away- by Umbro)
u know if Umbro manages to only change its logo ,,,,i don’t think it’ll face all this downfall at once!!!
Umbro needed to go, their shirts have been boring for the last few years. We need an England shirt that stands out.
Umbro have made some classic England kits ,we don’t need an England kit that stands out ,we need an England team that stands out .
