Paolo Di Canio Wes Foderingham Substitution Video- Swindon vs Preston- Keeper subbed after 20 minutes

VIDEO DI CANIO Foderingham BELOW

Last year, he was involved in a bustup with Leon Clarke, and now Swindon manager Paolo di Canio is again in the news, this time for substituting goalkeeper Wes Foderingham twenty minutes into the Robins’ weekend loss to Preston North End.

After Foderingham had let in two goals within the first twenty minutes, Di Canio hauled him off for teenage stopper Leigh Bedwell. Foderingham, 20, wasn’t happy with the turn of events and chose not to sit in the dugout after letting out his frustration by kicking a water bottle on the sidelines.

Di Canio slammed Foderingham’s “arrogance” and “ignorance”, said he had no future at the club if he didn’t apologise and added that Foderingham was playing like the “worst professional; arrogant, ignorant in some way – not as a person, as an athlete – I have ever seen”

He was nothing until the day he joined me. He didn’t have one second as a professional.

He is very good and it is thanks to him we did well last year, but he’s forgotten everything. He’s arrogant and thinks he’s untouchable.

Today what he did, it’s not only the mistake that can happen to everyone. The arrogance later, when he started moaning to the others, that was the worst thing for me because it let me realise that a player doesn’t recognise his mistakes that was clear miles away, that was a rubbish mistake

If he doesn’t think he made a mistake in the way he behaved he has to think who he is? Cech?

  1. “If he doesn’t think he made a mistake in the way he behaved he has to think who he is? Cech”

You can always count on Di Canio for a good quote lol

  2. So by pulling him off what do you gain? He made a mistake, a bad mistake, but mistakes happen. Mistakes can also result in loss of confidence which leads to worse form, taking someone off after 20 minutes doesnt help confidence. And making him apologize for being frustrated after being publicly emabarassed by his manager who didnt have to do it? Really?
