  1. Atleast Ireland have the small consolation of being level on points with the Netherlands after the group stage πŸ˜€ :p

  2. Excellent second goal, and fascinating watching the slow-mo: as the defender pulls at the striker’s jersey, trying to upset his balance, the striker keeps his eye on the ball and scores. Looks like the defender also has his eye on the ball, but he seems to think that his tactic of trying to pull the striker off balance is all that is needed to prevent a goal. Of course, what he should have been doing was playing the ball, not the man, and then he might have been able to clear it.

That’s a fine example of poor defensive play and of course a fine example of good striking in one.

  3. Please do not ever qualify for another football tournament again. You are a waste of a precious slot. Hiring an Italian manager will do nothing to help if your team consists of nincompoops.

And you Irish fans, stop singing ‘The Fields of Athenry’. We are NOT impressed. Shut up.

  4. Ireland looked weak and should not of been in the Euro’s.
I think pundits comments should be curbed as Being byist and showing it is not a good look.
Better luck next time Mick McCarthy, I wouldn’t like you managering any team as your track record has been proven to the world !

  5. Good observation Bryan. Went back to review it after reading your comment. Not only that, look at the 2 Italians dummying the Irish defence leaving O’Shea panicking and playing the man instead of attacking the ball. My opinion is that the Spanish is soft and play acts. For some reason opponents believes the hype about Spain. They can be put on the back foot and pressed back but these bunch of Italians are real fighters…real men… on the pitch. This Italian team is the team to avoid for England.

  6. Thanks Evered. I agree about Spain. I don’t enjoy watching them play because instead of just playing the game they seem to like to toy with their opponents. What do they think this is, a bloody bullfight?!
