Adidas and French giants Olympique Lyonnais ( OL/Lyon) have unveiled the world’s first ever 3D football kit in the form of Lyon’s new 2012/2013 third/Europe jersey. Lyon’s new 3D shirt was worn for the first time by Les Gones in their 2011/2012 French Cup final against minnows Quevilly, a fixture they won 1-0.
OL have not quite been able to replicate their successes of the early 2000’s in recent times in France, but still boast of players like Bafetimbi Gomis, Lisandro Lopez, Kim Kallstrom, Jimmy Briand, Michel Bastos and Yoann Gourcuff in their ranks and remain a strong force domestically.
Lyon’s new 3D Shirt 2012-13 is black in colour, differing from the pink third jersey they used in Europe during the 2011/2012 season.
Will more clubs under Adidas go the 3D jersey way? We’ll have to see.
