Genoa Siena 2012 Ultras Protest/ Sculli Negotiation VIDEO BELOW
Ultras protested during the Genoa Siena Serie A match on April 22, 2012 at the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris, blocking the tunnel and demanding that the “unworthy” players hand over their shirts. Genoa were trailing 0-4 against Siena early in the second half, and the Ultras, deciding that they had enough, threw flares on the pitch and brought it to a halt.
Genoa captain Marco Rossi and his team-mates, shaken, started removing their jerseys and even had them collected together. Giandomenico Mesto was in tears while goalkeeper Sebastien Frey reportedly told the Ultras ” this is my shirt, we are genoa”.
However striker Giuseppe Sculli refused to give up his shirt and moved to negotiate with the Ultras. Sculli, for those not in the know, is the grandson of Giuseppe Morabito, a erstwhile Mafia boss. Sculli’s talks proved fruitful and the shirts were returned to the players. The match, which was suspended, resumed again, and Siena eventually went on to win 4-1 with an own goal helping Genoa pull one back.
Genoa, who have the worst defensive record in Serie A this season, remain in danger of being relegated.

Holy shit, that’s scary
What were the police doing though?
Sculli has balls though
The connection with his grandfather probably explains it, but it takes real courage to confront the ultras like that, especially when one of the chaps was grabbing him by the scruff of his neck
sculli got balls mesto not so
@ the last chap, not many folks in italy can confront the ultras.
If you notice all the police did was to form a barrier between the tunnel and the players, they didn’t try to evacuate them.
Mesto crying was probably due to him having to give up the shirt
That’s one thing i’d never make my club players do, however bad they were performing.
Simply amazing the negotiator Beppe Sculli, real Captain. Great player and great man indeed. Chapeau !
