UPDATE 19 March 2012 from BWFC- FABRICE MUAMBA SHOWING SMALL SIGNS OF IMPROVEMENT

The FA Cup tie between Bolton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur on 17 March, 2012 was abandoned in the 41st minute of the game after Trotters midfielder Fabrice Muamba collapsed in the middle of the pitch. After Muamba’s collapse, referee Howard Webb took the decision of abandoning the game after discussions with Harry Redknapp and Owen Coyle.

Early reports seem to suggest he suffered from a heart attack/cardiac arrest on the pitch.

Muamba was given emergency CPR and then taken to the The Heart Attack Centre at The London Chest Hospital. Coyle and Kevin Davies were with him in the ambulance. He was not breathing when he was taken down the tunnel. Both sets of medics tried to revive him with a defibrillator and he was electronically charged on atleast two occasions. Muamba’s face was facing the turf when the medics arrived.

Coyle later remarked that Muamba’s condition is serious and “critically ill”.

Muamba, an England U-21 regular, has also previously played for Arsenal and Birmingham City. He was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, but migrated to England at the age of 11. Both sets of players were stricken and shocked when he collapsed on the pitch

  18. Just heard the news that Fabrice is improving, he’s now talking and moving.

I have to say I’m agnostic, but found myself praying the lad survived.

Also, great credit has to go out to both medical teams, without their quick response the outcome may have been very different and both sets of supporters are a credit to football.

Our thoughts and best wishes are with you Fabrice and hope for a speedy recovery.

  19. For Fabrice, I thank God that you are recovering! As a believer, I do really think that you will come out of this tragedy stronger both physically and spiritually! This experience will be part of your past soon; however, it is and will continue to be a reflective exercise for most of us in proving how much unity and love can overcome any devil’s plan through prayers!! You are Blessed, as God used you to show the power of the PRAYER to the world, and recalled us how important was the power of LOVE!! As advised by the bible, let us love God and show love to each other!
All at NESTAC Charity we pray for you!

  20. Dear Fabrice, I have been praying for you almost non-stop since this happened to you, and I believe with all my heart in the Lord Jesus and in the power of prayer. You are such a shining beacon of hope to many many young men in what you have achieved in the face of all the adversities you encountered in your short life. Please keep on fighting to get better and stay with the people closest to you and whose lives would be torn apart without you.

Football can be a cruel arena sometimes, but seeing everyone shouting your name and just willing you with all their hearts to be alright on saturday was so emotional and heart wrenching. One of the comments I read on this page earlier said that what has happened to you has united the Football world, and they are so right and you’re such a highly respected young man, that every one wants the best for you, you are very loved and wanted in this world.

Those Paramedics saved your life with their hard work in such intense and difficult circumstances, having been in the Ambulance Service I know how hard it is to have a few people around you wanting to get involved let alone 30.000 plus, they should be so damn proud of themselves. And I know that when you are well enough you will seek them out and personally thank them, because that is the kind of young Man you are.

All my love to you Fabrice, keep fighting and talking to Jesus , he will deliver you safely back where you belong with Shauna and Joshua. Lets all keep praying for this wonderful young Man, he has a long long road ahead of him, and the power of prayer is so so strong .

  21. Africafrique Magazine, leadership and staffs are with you Fabrice Muamba and your family.

    God is in control.
