Wigan Athletic’s Paraguayan centre half Antolin Alcaraz has been charged by the FA for spitting at Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Richard Stearman in the two sides’ Premier League game on Sunday 6, November, 2011. The Alcaraz spitting Stearman incident was not seen by the match officials but was observed later on TV footage by the FA.
The FA is due to hand Alcaraz a three match suspension ban for spitting at Stearman. Wigan lost the game 3-1.
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy was upset at Alcaraz spitting at Spearman and said that it was taboo.
