Rooney three match Euro 2012 ban- England striker to miss group stages

England striker Wayne Rooney has been awarded a three match ban by UEFA for his tackle on Miodrag Dzudovic. The three match ban, which can only be served in competitive fixtures, means that Rooney will miss England’s entire Group Stage campaign if he is selected for the national team.

The FA are expected to appeal against the decision in the next few days, but opinion is already divided on whether or not England manager Fabio Capello should take Rooney to Euro 2012.
