Nicklas Bendtner- Stoke City plan record £9m bid for Arsenal forward

Stoke City are planning to make a club record £9m bid for Nicklas Bendtner that will eclipse the fee paid to Sunderland for Kenywne Jones in 2010 and make the Danish international the Potters’ record club signing. Bendtner is all but certain to leave the Emirates this summer as he seeks regular first team football and was left out of Arsenal’s recent Far East tour.

Both Borussia Dortmund and Sporting Lisbon have evinced interest in the young Dane but have failed to reach an agreement with him over personal terms.

But Stoke are willing to allow him to pursue his career in England as Tony Pulis seeks to bolster his squad. Stoke currently hold a 1-0 lead over Croatian outfit and European outfit Hajduk Split as they travel to Eastern Europe for the second leg of their Europa League tie on Wednesday.
