The Npower Championship fixtures 2011/2012, like the Premier League fixtures 11/12, were released on June 17, 2011, Friday, at 9 am UK time. Each team will play a total of 46 games during the 2011/12 Championship season.
West Ham United, Blackpool and Birmingham are the new entrants to the Championship 11/12, having been relegated from the 10/11 Premier League season. Promoted to the Championship 11/12 from League One were Brighton, Southampton and Peterborough United.
West Ham will host Cardiff City in their opener while Birmingham and Blackpool are away to Derby County and Hull City respectively. Last season’s playoff runners up Reading take on Millwall at home.
Newly promoted Southampton have a cracking opening home fixture at St.Mary’s against Leeds, with fellow newboys Brighton hosting Doncaster and Peterborough welcoming Crystal Palace.
In other opening day fixtures, Bristol City will host Ipswich, Watford will visit Burnley, Coventry will host Leicester, Nottingham Forest host Barnsley and Middlesbrough will host Pompey.
