New club for Van Nistelrooy-Malaga sign Dutch star

Dutch striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy has returned to La Liga by signing a new one year contract with Spanish outfit Malaga CF, the club have announced. Van Nistelrooy, 34, moves to Malaga from German Bundesliga outfit Hamburg. He had joined Hamburg on an eighteen month deal from Real Madrid in January 2010.

Malaga are currently owned by a Qatari group who are aiming to make the Andalusians a force to be reckoned with in Spain. Prior to Real Madrid, Van Nistelrooy played for Den Bosch, Heerenveen, PSV Eindhoven and Manchester United, in that order.

Van Nistelrooy holds the record for most goals scored in a single season of the modern Champions League, a feat equalled by Lionel Messi in the 2010/2011 season.
