Ronaldo cleverly turned inside Barcelona’s Gerard Pique before scooping the ball over Iker Casillas ( see video). However as the ball was on its way in, Nani came in from an offside position to head it in, and the goal was disallowed for offside.

Ronaldo threw his captain’s armband on the pitch in anger following the referee’s decision.
It was a poor piece of play from Nani given that the ball would have surely gone in had he not interfered. Nani has been lambasted as “selfish” for trying to make the goal his own.
