Leonardo steps down as AC Milan coach

After less than a year in charge of AC Milan, the club’s Brazilian coach Leonardo has announced that he has left the club by mutual consent. Leonardo, a former scout, was appointed as manager following the departure of Carlo Ancelotti to Chelsea.

Under Leonardo, Milan had a torrid start to the season but recovered in the middle and managed to secure Champions League football next season. The Italian Serie A comes to an end this weekend and while Milan are not in the title race, their great city rivals Inter are well placed to secure a fifth successive scudetto.
