Portuguese winger Nani gives Man United the led at Wembley with a right footed strike into the far corner. Nani latches on to a cross from Darren Fletcher, cuts inside Chelsea right back Branislav Ivanovic, and unleashes a shot that Petr Cech should have got a hand to.

Florent Malouda crosses the ball into the box, and Didier Drogba’s physical presence disturbs Ben Foster. The ball falls to Carvalho, who heads in Chelsea’s equaliser.

Bit of a controversial goal. Ballack commits a blatant foul on Evra, which the referee seems not to notice. Chelsea play the ball forward, and score on the counter through Lampard.

Man United substitute Ryan Giggs, playing in his 12th Community Shield, produces a lovely little pass that Wayne Rooney latches on to. The forward shrugs off Bosingwa’s challenge, and puts it past Cech with a calm left footed finish.

I thought it was a good game, but I have to wonder iif the result would’ve been somewhat different if Van Der Sar and Vidic weren’t injured but I guess that doesn’t matter much now.
It was interesting to see Utd’s attacking options and it seems as though Rooney playing in down the middle could compensate for the loss of Ronaldo, but I reckon the title race will be a little closer this year.
