English Premiership transfer gossip and rumours for May 11, 2009

Sunderland striker Djibril Cisse says that he is heading for White Hart Lane in the summer after being benched by Ricky Sbragia in the Black Cats’ weekend game against Bolton Wanderers.

Manchester City’s Brazilian midfielder Elano has threatened to quit Eastlands if the club don’t offer him a new contract. Elano’s current contract is till 2011, but he wants to sign a new deal immediately.

Despite scoring a wonder goal against Manchester City on Sunday, Carlos Tevez’s chances of staying at United appear bleak. Manchester City, Liverpool and Real Madrid are among the frontrunners to sign the Argentine forward. Tottenham Hotspur are also interested, but it is unlikely that Tevez would come to the capital.

Pavel Pogrebanyak could join Russian team mate Andrei Arshavin in the summer at Arsenal as Wenger scouts for a replacement for Emmanuel Adebayor.

Cardiff star Joe Ledley has refused to sign a new contract, and with his present deal expiring at the end of next season, the Bluebirds are likely to let him go in the summer.

Pompey midfielder Sean Davis is being linked with Bolton and Wigan, as well as the newly promoted duo of Wolves and Birmingham. Davis is available for a free at the end of the season, with his current deal expiring this summer.

Aston Villa are weighing up a summer move for Anderlecht defender Roland Juhasz.

  1. I think it is great that we looking at other strikers Adebayor fo me has not performed in major games and that is our downfall.. we need a man that finds the back of the net and Bendtner does not do it for the gunners

  2. Adebayor hasn’t played as well as some of the other strikers in the league.

He might end up going to Milan this summer.

  4. Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor plans on staying with the club despite interest from AC Milan. Adebayor said,

“All I can say is I am a footballer and if a club like Milan are interested in me then I cannot lie to you, I am happy, because it is Milan.

“But the thing is that it stops there – I am very happy playing for Arsenal, and this is what I always say.

“At the end of the day you just get bored of this – people read these things and then the fans will boo you for what you never said, but again I repeat that I am very happy here.”

May 23rd, 2009 According to ESPN Soccernet, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is hopeful to hold onto striker Emmanuel Adebayor. Wenger said,
