Real Salt Lake won their first Caroline Challenge Cup when they beat Toronto FC 2-1 at the Blackbaud Stadium on Saturday. Early goals from Yura Movsisyan and Clint Mathis saw RSL take a two goal lead before Dwayne de Rosario scored his third goal of the tournament in the 38th minute to pull one back for Toronto. With the result, Real maintained their 100% win record in this year’s tournament.
After two losses, DC United beat hosts Charleston Battery 2-0 to claim third spot in the tournament. Luciano Emilio and Andrew Jacobson were the scorers for Tom Soehn’s side.
