First half goals from Andriy Voronin and Pal Dardai fired Hertha Berlin back to the top of the Bundesliga at least for the time being as the hosts beat Borussia Monchengladbach 2-1. Hoffenheim had drawn against Dortmund in their league game.

Voronin scored the first in the 28th minute, collecting Cicero’s ball and lofting it over Baillys.

Hungarian midfielder Dardai doubled Hertha’s lead when he collected Patrick Ebert’s pass in the box and slid the ball past Baillys.

Michael Bradley pulled one back for Gladbach from the penalty spot after Marko Marin had been brought down by Arne Freidrich.

Gladbach tried their best to get a second goal, and even added an extra attacker, bringing in Colautti for Baumjohann, but Hertha held firm to win 2-1.
