Spartak Moscow skipper Radoslav Kovac has joined West Ham United on loan till the end of the season. The versatile Czech international can play in both midfield ( defensive midfielder) and defence, and was also linked with a move to Scottish champions Celtic.
The twenty nine year old Kovac started his career with Sigma Olomouc in 1997, and moved to Sparta Prague in 2003. In July 2005, he transferred to Russian club Spartak.
West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola said that he was pleased to have Kovac at Upton Park.
I am pleased to have Radoslav here.
He has a lot of experience with the national team and he will give us competition in a midfield – which is already very strong. I am sure he will help us with what we are trying to achieve this season.
