After losing to Liverpool in the Champions League, Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven returned to winning ways when they beat De Graafschap 3-0 at the Philips Stadion. Former Feyenoord striker Danko Lazovic grabbed a brace while attacking midfielder Ibrahim Affelay also got his name on the scoresheet. With the result, PSV went to the top of the Eredivisie, but FC Groningen’s win over ADO Den Haag on Sunday meant that PSV are one point behind Groningen, who lead the table with thirteen points from five games.
The result was Graafschap’s second successive away 0-3 loss, having lost to Twente Enschede by the same margin last week.
Both Affelay and Lazovic had missed the trip to Anfield, a game where PSV were clearly second best to Liverpool.
PSV next play NAC Breda, while De Graafschap will be up against AZ Alkmaar.
