Ade too pricey for us- Milan

Judging by reports in the press, Togo forward Emmanuel Adebayor will not be reunited with Mathieu Flamini next season. AC Milan, who had earlier expressed interest in signing the Arsenal striker, have said that they cannot meet Arsenal’s 45 million euro valuation of the player. Barcelona have already had a £25 million pound bid rejected.

Adebayor found the back of the net 30 times in 48 outings for the Gunners. He moved to Arsenal from Monaco in January 2006, and signed a new contract in May 2007. Adebayor has shouldered most of Arsenal’s striking burden following Thierry Henry’s departure to Barcelona and has improved by leaps and bounds- a fact that watchers of live football will testify to. He also won the BBC African Footballer of the Year award for 2007.

Emmanuel Adebayor

Milan wanted Adebayor after the departure of Alberto Gilardino and an injury to Brazilian Ronaldo.

Should Wenger allow Adebayor to go, he is said to be considering Roque Santa Cruz and Obafemi Martins as potential replacements.

Adebayor has also been linked with a surprise move to London rivals Chelsea
