The 31 year old footballer has had quite a bit of trouble with his knee in recent years and missed the whole of last season due to injury. His loss will be felt a lot more by Wales, whose defence will lose one of its stalwarts. Delaney made 193 appearances in his 8 and a half year stay at Villa Park.
