Franck Ribery to leave Marseille ?

If rumours in the press are to be believed, Marseille have reportedly told winger Franck Ribery that he can leave in the summer, if he wishes.

Ribery has been the subject of interest of many top European clubs- Arsenal, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to be precise. His stock had appreciated considerably after several eye catching performances for the national squad in Germany 2006.

Marseille had managed to keep him at the Stade Velodrome in 2006, in their quest for a Champions League spot. They are 5th in Ligue 1, and the top three go through to the Champions League.

There are rumours that Marseille have unofficially signed a pact to let him go to Arsenal. His pace  and ability to skip past defenders on the flanks would be an asset to the Arsenal squad, and the question of him feeling homesick may not arise- as Arsenal have numerous players who can speak French fluently.

Manchester United, as mentioned before are also interested in him. Ribery played on the right in the World Cup, although he can also play on the left and in the centre, if required.
